The book discusses a whole range of problems regarding the process of sorrow and overcoming injury to people whose relatives were missing - became victims of “violent disappearance” as a result of wars, exacerbation of the political situation or disappeared due to a natural disaster. The theoretical foundations of this new area of research and the historical review of the events of the 20th century were set out, in which the phenomenon of violent disappearances manifested itself with particular acuteness. The multi -year practical experience of the psychotherapy of relatives of missing people in various settings has been set out, including work at crisis points (war, terrorist attacks, natural disasters). Particular attention is paid to the collective strategies of overcoming traumatic experiences in the universal disappearance of loved ones and the issues of self -help and psycho -gygines of professionals who provide psychological assistance to them.
