A textbook is written by teachers of the Medical Institute of the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples in the framework of interdisciplinary integration. It made an attempt to combine pathophysiological and clinical-pharmacological approaches to teaching the section of medicine associated with certain diseases of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract (in particular, the esophagus, stomach and intestines). and the development of pathological processes, the fundamental patterns of the appearance of pathology in the manual, the pharmacological therapy of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract is presented in the point of view of modern clinical pharmacology.

In each chapter, there is not only a detailed description of pathological processes associated with diseases of the gastrointestinal the intestinal tract, but also proposed drugs selected according to the pathogenetic principles of correction of the digestive system insufficiency.

The materials of the training aid are compiled in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education in the areas of training 31.05.01 Medical Affairs, 31.05.03 "Dentistry", 33.05.01 "Pharmacy" (level of specialtic) and approximate (typical) curricula of disciplines "Pathological physiology", "Pharmacology" and "Clinical pharmacology".
