Georgy Ivanovich Shilin (1896-1938), the author of numerous works of artistic prose, a talented master of the outline genre, was well known in the 20-30s of the XX century. The novel “Proven”, whose action takes place in the 1920s in Leprozia, includes a real historical excursion and is distinguished by an abundance of scientific details. The author was interested in not only scientific facts, but also doctors themselves, patients, their characters, psychological issues and broad social problems.
