The publication included early stories of the 1920s. outstanding Russian writer, Nobel Prize laureate Mikhail Sholokhov. Subsequently, the author united them into the collections “Don Stories” (1926), “The Lateral steppe” (1926), “On Kolchak, Capiva and others” (1927). In these works, one of the main topics of Sholokhov’s creativity, which developed in the epic novel “Quiet Don”, was marked-the fate of the Don Cossacks in the turning of the Civil War, dividing the family into two irreconcilable camps and destroyed the centuries of life shown by the author as a fratricid massacre, Nasty of human nature. “The main character of his works,” the Finnish writer Marti Larney wrote about Sholokhov, “is the truth itself... He sees and perceives life as a realistic drama, in which humanity is assigned the main role. This is one of the explanations of his world fame. ”
