to the stories about Dr. Finley, about his senior colleague Dr. Cameron and their unflappable economy, Janet from a small Scottish town, Archibald Kronin came already by a writer who had several novels, including the Brody Castle glorifying him. However, it is these tragic, funny and touching stories full of colorful characters that still remain the most popular and famous work of the writer and formed the basis of the shot by the BBC, a very successful series, which was broadcast on television from 1962 to 1971 (the first Two years of scripts were written by Kronin himself). Two collections that they entered (both of them are included in the Russian edition) are reprinted all over the world to this day.
