Bram Stoker studied Irish folklore for many years, as well as Eastern European myths and legends about bloodsuckers before publishing his amazing history in 1897. For her reasons, dozens of films were shot, including the famous Hollywood blockbusters “Dracula Bram Stoker” (dir. Francis Ford Coppola, 1992) and Van Helsing (dir. Stephen Somers, 2004). And the ominous vampire of Dracula is today known in mass culture no less than Darth Vader from Star Wars or Joker from Batman.
