until the end of the XIX century. In Russia, there were no their duel codes. Representatives of the nobility shot, relying on tradition, public opinion and their personal ideas about honor. The first step towards the formation of the duel Code in Russia was the “Rules on the procedure for the proceeding of quarrels in the officer environment” published in 1894. Later, the codes themselves appeared - V. Durasov, B. Tonsky, S. Vizhinsky and A. Suvorin.

The book contains two versions of the duel Code. The first was written by V. Durasov, the second - A. Suvorin. The reader is given the opportunity not only to understand in detail the concept of a duel, options for applying insult, call rules, etc., but also to compare both codes.
