Thinker, theologian, historian, church and public figure Anton Vladimirovich Kartashev (1875-1960) was an iconic figure in the domestic religious Renaissance at the beginning of the 20th century, and later the first wave of Russian emigration. The book "Ecumenical Councils", first published in 1963. After the death of its author, is an experience of ancient church history and at the same time at the same time a systematic presentation of the events of the IV-VII centuries.
