1829. Young Edgar Allan Poe, a novice writer and poet, sits on a ship that goes from America to the Old World. Edgar decides to repeat the path of his idol-Lord Byron,-going to the war for the independence of Greece, but because of the weak knowledge of geography, he chooses the most “short” path-through Russia. Upon arrival in St. Petersburg, it turned out that Edgar was late for war, because Greece had already acquired independence, and being within the Russian Empire is illegal due to lack of documents. Fortunately, a high -ranking Russian official allowed the American to stay in St. Petersburg for a month, and this period in the life of the future literary classic turned out to be rich in adventure.
