French artist Eduar Mane went a difficult way in art. He sought to show in his works the bright aspects of his modern life, "not to repeat tomorrow what has been done today, to make a new note." His creative fate was not simple: his work was not always approved by "figures from art." However, the artist did not change himself: he went his own way and opposed the doctrines of academism, who, in his opinion, limited the creative imagination of masters of painting. “He was greater than we thought,” the impressionist Degas will once say about him.
