The collection is devoted to the problems and prospects of the introduction and development of the educational model of free arts and sciences in Russia, also known as liberal education. Free arts and sciences go back to classical antiquity and are aimed at the ideal of a universally educated citizen who owns the art of word, thinking and number. The modern modification of this model, the contours of which were formed at the Universities of the United States by the end of the 19th century, includes components such as an individual learning trajectory, significant freedom of choice of courses, the deferred choice of specialization, interactive pedagogy, multidisciplinary. The authors of articles included in the collection turn to the study of the experience and prospects of the implementation, application and development of this educational model in the world and Russian context.
