The textbook was prepared in accordance with the requirements of federal state educational standards of higher professional education in the general group "Health" under the program of the discipline "Life Safety. Emergency Medicine". It presents modern information about the organization of medical support of the population in emergency situations of peace and wartime. Some topics consider issues that are devoted to the organizational structure and tasks of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Extraordination of Emergencies and the All -Russian Disaster Medicine Service; organizations of medical, evacuation, sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures in emergency situations; medical and medical and psychological protection of the population and rescuers; medical supply of institutions and formations of the disaster medicine service; the provision of medical care to the population in armed conflicts and local wars. A separate chapter discusses the issues of the Melico-sanitary support of the children in emergency situations.

Textbook materials can be used by teachers of medical universities to prepare educational and methodological literature and students for independent work.
