Enchanting madness. Claude Monet and Water Lilies. King R.
By 1914, noisy battles, who marked the birth of a rebellious group of impressionist artists, had long become history, and the young rebels who provoked them-those who have not yet left this world-turned into the gray-turn Patriarchs of French painting. Claude Monet, who turned 73 years old, settled in Zhiverni, where he equipped his personal Paradise Garden with man -made ponds and selection lilies. French newspapers informed readers that the famous master retired to rest. Nevertheless, newspapers hurried to write off Monet from the scores. Contrary to personal and global cataclysms, contrary to unhealthy, uncertainty in his abilities and respectable age, the artist began to embody the most large -scale artistic project in his entire artistic career - the grandiose cycle of landscapes with water lilies.
