The educational material is presented on the thermal, kinematic and dynamic calculation, the development and layout of components, mechanisms and systems of gasoline (carburetic and injector), diesel, combined and gas piston internal combustion engines (ICE). Instructions are given on the choice of calculated loads on individual nodes and engines parts, the procedure for their calculation when determining the main sizes. The methodology for constructing indicator and polar diagrams of the piston ICE is set out. An example of a thermal calculation of a combined ICE on a PC is made. The sequence of the traction calculation of the car and the tractor, the design calculation of the chassis units is presented. An example is the methodology and sequence of calculation of dry friction clutch. Information is set out on the methodology for the implementation of the course and graduation work on engines, cars and tractors.
