Yakov Isidorovich Perelman (1882–1942)-Russian and Soviet physicist and mathematician, the creator of a special genre in popular science literature-“Entertaining Science”. “Entertaining science,” wrote J. I. Perelman, “strives for the usual thing, long -known phenomena, which have lost interest in our eyes, showing a new, unusual, sometimes unexpected side. The novelty incites interest, and interest helps to concentrate attention and wakes up the work of thought. ” In the rich literary heritage of Y. I. Perelman, it is customary to distinguish ten basic books that formed the basis of “Entertaining Science”.
