The book presents the memoirs of the prominent military leader Lieutenant General A. S. Lukomsky (1868-1939), reflecting the events of his personal life and military service, both in the imperial army and in the Armed Forces in the south of Russia during the Civil War. In February-March 1917, while at the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, General Lukomsky witnessed fatal events related to renunciation of the throne of Emperor Nicholas II.
The collection includes “Essays from my life” and the “Memoirs of General A.S. Lukomsky” (Berlin, 1922), as well as some archival materials from the A. S. Lukomsky Archive in the Archive of Giverovsky, first published in Russia. Institute (Palo-Alto, USA).
