Analytic-cathartic therapy is a short-term model of psychotherapy, combining the conversation of the therapist and the patient with the technique of patient dialogue with imaginary others. The goal is the awareness of unconscious internal complexes and conflicts. The method is used both for the treatment of neurosis and in the psychological counseling of patients with emotional problems, difficult life situation, conflict relations. The theoretical foundations of the method are the psychology of the relationship of V.N. Myasishcheva, the concept of the internal speech of L. S. Vygotsky, the dialogical concept of M. M. Bakhtin, the ideas of phenomenological hermeneutics. The dialogue technique is shown on clinical examples.
The publication is intended for psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, students of medical and psychological faculties.
