Ethnosociology: a textbook for universities. 2nd ed. Dugin A.G.

The book is a systematic presentation of the basic principles and analytical strategies of the discipline “Ethnosociology”, which is considered an independent section of sociology based on the study of society transformations from simple ethnic groups to comprehensive modern social systems (including “civil society”, “postmodern society” and so on.). The work analyzes the main foreign and domestic sources and schools, which influenced the formation of ethnosociology as an independent and original scientific discipline.

The author offers an in -depth philosophical approach to the categories of “ethnos”, “people”, “nation”, “society”, gives clear definitions of these concepts and builds a generalizing ethnosociological taxonomy. The book is distinguished by a strict sequence, a wide spectrum of attracted knowledge, the use of various methodologies of ethnosociological analysis, reduced to a single easily perceived system. Considerable attention is paid to the use of ethnosociological tools for the analysis of Russian society.
