In the historical novel, Arthur Conan Doyle “Exiles” describes events in France of the late 17th century. The rearrangement of forces and the political situation in the country that is rule the Louis XIV and his new favorite of the Marquis de Mentenon, forcing the main characters of the book to make a difficult choice and exchange the old light for the new one, where the sword replaces the carabiner, and the owner of the flooded wig may be squeezed.
The translation of the novel is printed according to the publication of P.P. Soykin in 1928 with the addition of the missed 31 chapter. The book is decorated with illustrations of two artists: Frenchman Charles Zhua and the Swede, who moved to the United States, Tour de Tulstrupa.
