John Locke (1632–1704) - the English philosopher, the largest thinker of the Enlightenment, the Father of Liberalism, who influenced the development of epistemology and political philosophy, a consistent supporter of the theory of social agreement, the democratic revolution and the rights of the people to overthrow the tyrant, the creator of the theory of separation authorities. The ideas of Locke was inherited by Voltaire and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and later Immanuel Kant was repelled from them. We find the impact of the views of Locke in the text of the US Independence Declaration, and we also owe it to modern humanistic ideas about human basic rights.

“Experience of human understanding” is one of the key works of John Locke and one of the central works of empiricism. Here Locke - partly in the dialogue with Descartes and Hobbes - refutes the idealists' ideas about innate ideas, consistently postulates the primary sensation and direct experience in comparison with the mind and considers the genesis of ideas in conjunction with feelings, words and perception. The concepts of identity and “I”, as modern psychology interprets them, is largely rooted in the epistemological theory of Locke. This work influenced many philosophers of the Enlightenment, including David Home; Gottfried Leibniz and George Berkeley was hotly poked with her. “Many philosophers composed novels about the soul - but here the sage came, who modestly wrote her story,” Commented “Experience of Human Reason” Voltaire.
