Facesia. Brakelini podge
Facation is the ancestor of a modern joke, who came straight from the Renaissance. Wandering plots, street jokes transmitted from mouth to mouth were aimed, as a rule, to ridicule certain persons and estates. For the first time, the backgot of Brakelini was taken seriously - the Italian writer and humanist of the 15th century.
We can say that his “Faceations” is the first printing collection of jokes. At one time, he was very popular, describing the actual bikes from the life of representatives of various classes: from peasants to bishops. Often, stories are not so much humorous as remarkable and instructive, giving an exhaustive characteristic of the Italian society of the Renaissance. The pile, without a doubt, laid the foundation for the whole tradition of collecting and literary processing of overheard jokes and comic stories.
The publication is published translated by Javelov Alexei Karpovich, a famous historian, the largest Russian encyclopedist of the 20th century. And is accompanied by his introductory article.
