Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805 in the city of Odensa, in the family of a shoemaker. Mother taught him to sew him, and his father carried away with songs and fairy tales. Soon, Christian himself began to write plays for his Puppet Theater. Father made wooden puppet dolls, and Hans Christian sewed costumes for them.
he learned to read and write only by ten years, but he wrote with mistakes until the end of his life. After the death of his father, Andersen, at the age of 14, goes to Copenhagen, where he studies literature, foreign languages and learns dancing. Soon he publishes his first play “Robbers in Vissenberg.”
In the early 1830s, Andersen graduates from the University of Copenhagen and receives the title of candidate of philosophy. In the 1840s, he published the book “Tales” and becomes a famous writer.
Andersen did not like his tales, although it was they who brought him fame, which he learned about shortly before his death.
Andersen was buried in 1875 in Copenhagen.
