Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805 in the city of Odensa, in the family of a shoemaker. Mother taught him to sew him, and his father carried away with songs and fairy tales. Soon, Christian himself began to write plays for his Puppet Theater. Father made wooden puppet dolls, and Hans Christian sewed costumes for them. He learned to read and write only by 10 years, but he wrote with errors until the end of his life. After the death of his father, Andersen, at the age of 14, goes to Copenhagen, where he studies literature, foreign languages and learns dancing. Soon it publishes his first play “Robbers in Vissenberg”. In 1829, Christian published the story “The Hiking from the Canal Holmen to the eastern end of the Amager”, which brings him fame. He did not love his tales, although it was they who brought him the glory, which he learned about shortly before his death. He was buried by Andersen in 1875 in Copenhagen. His most famous works: “Little Mermaid”, “Fire”, “Snow Queen”, “Swinp”, “Owing Duckling”.
