Fallen leaves. Rozanov V.V.
Vasily Rozanov is one of the most original Russian philosophers and literary critics of the Silver Age. Literary work was for him a way of life, a way of existence, a daily occupation and necessity. At the same time, Rozanov never tried to write anything “artistic” and wondered why no one had guessed to write like that before, simply, without any invented heroes, without an image of the situation and circumstances, without immersion in the plot. Rozanov created a unique genre-“fallen leaves”, comparable except with modern online diarrhea-blogs.
The book “Fallen Leaves” (1913–1915) is a separate records of thoughts and impressions that “flow continuously” and with which the author in a trusting manner shares with readers; Their sequence forms the plot. The current publication also included two other significant works by Vasily Rozanov: “secluded” (1911), where the type of philosophizing originally arises, continued in “fallen leaves”, as well as the essay “The Legend of the Great Inquisitor F. M. Dostoevsky” (1891), dedicated to the novel “The Brothers Karamazovs” and Rozanov brought fame.
