Financier

The financier is the first book of the famous “Trilogy of Desire” by Theodore Dreiser, which is based on the biography of the American railway tycoon Charles Yerks. The protagonist, Frank Caucerwood, got rich in just a few days largely due to his amazing intuition. An ordinary guy from a small provincial town, becoming a businessman and an exchange player, enters the world of luxury and big money: he finds himself in the cycle of the largest financial transactions, rotates in the company of the best dealers of his time. Gradually, an ambitious young man turns into an unprincipled, powerful and longing for a millionaire.
