The proposed five -volume edition is unique. To date, this is the most complete works of Sergei Dovlatov. And besides, it included detailed comments by the professor of St. Petersburg State University I.N. Sukhikh. The texts are printed taking into account the last author's edit.

Today Sergey Dovlatov is one of the most popular and readable Russian writers of the late twentieth century, and he is “doomed” to remain so for a long time. His works are the same great classic, which, with all its significance, remains interesting and close to readers, regardless of age, nationality, erudition or, in the words of Dovlatov himself, “degree of intellectual pickiness”. Lev Losev formulated this quality of Dovlatov’s prose as follows: “Dovlatov knew the secret of how interesting to write.”

In the first volume, the famous story "Zone" and the stories and novels of the 1960-1970s are printed in the first volume.

In the second volume, the most important works of Dovlatov in the early 1980s are printed-“compromise”, “reserve”, “ours”.

The third volume included the books “The Marsh of the Lonely” and “Craft”. In 1980-1982, Dovlatov led the heading in the weekly newspaper "New American", being its editor -in -chief. Part of the materials published in the newspaper, Dovlatov subsequently united in the collection "Marsh of Lonely". The writer himself considered newspaper work no less important than artistic creation. In this volume, for the first time, articles, essays, feuilletons, interviews related to the two -year work of S. Dovlatov in the “New American” are presented for the first time.

The fourth volume includes such famous works of S. Dovlatov as “Foreigner”, “Suitcase”, “Branch”, as well as stories of the 1980s.

The fifth volume included the famous "Notebooks" Dovlatov and his philological prose. The application publishes fragments that are not included in the final text of “notebooks”, as well as from the book “Not only Brodsky”.
