Eric Argus is an unemployed scientist, whose early works brought him fame, but almost deprived of his mind. Now he has the last chance to restore the reputation. During one of the studies, he modifies a paradoxical physical experiment, demonstrating the dual nature of light and matter, and as a result makes a stunning discovery about the human consciousness and the structure of the universe. It gives rise to real chaos in scientific circles and affects each person on Earth. A real struggle between science and faith, the concept of free will and predestination is flared up. Eric does not immediately realize how large -scale consequences entails his discovery, until the world around him begins to gradually distort. And soon it attracts the attention of mysterious forces, who believe that the scientist has gone too far with his experiments.
