Vladimir Yakovlevich PrPP-an outstanding domestic philologist, professor of Leningrad University, one of the founders of a structural and typological approach in folklore, which later received wide application in literary criticism. The works of V. Ya. Proppa on the study of folklore (“Morphology of the Tale”, 1928; “The historical roots of the fairy tale”, 1946; and others) were included in the Golden Fund of World Science of the twentieth century.
In this publication are included The chosen articles of Vladimir Propp of different years.
“Folklore and reality” is one of the articles of this collection. In it, the scientist will determine the specifics of folklore as the subject of research, the patterns of its development, the establishment of the origins of genres familiar from childhood, plots, images, motives on the example of not only Russian, but also world folklore.
