This book is an adaptation of the adventure novel “Horseman without a head” by the English writer Thomas Main Read (1818-1883). The action of the novel takes place in Texas during the conquest of the Wild West. A mysterious murder occurs in the prairie. Suspicion of the murder falls on the young Mustanger Maurice Gerald, to whom the daughter of the planter, Beauty Louise, gave her heart. Mustanger's friend, a brave hunter Zeb Istan, finds the main witness of the crime...

After each chapter, a comment and translation of difficult words and expressions, as well as exercises aimed at testing the understanding of the text, developing vocabulary and grammatical rules, development of oral Speech. New words are included in the dictionary, which is placed at the end of the book.
