The textbook was written by representatives of leading Russian medical universities, taking into account new requirements for examinations in connection with amendments and additions made to modern legislation.

The educational material was built on the basis of an innovative modular educational program developed by employees of the Forensic Medicine Department and medical law MGMSU them. A.I. Evdokimova in accordance with the program of the discipline "Forensic Medicine" in the specialty 05/31/03 "Dentistry". The mechanisms of the origin of various types of damage to the maxillofacial region, the development of pathological processes under the action of some physical and chemical factors were explained. The issues of the procedural and organizational foundations of forensic medicine, forensic examination of living persons, identification of the individual and responsibility of medical workers for violations of citizens' rights in the field of health protection have been revised. Illustrative materials related to the expert assessment of the gunshot and explosive injury, the actions of physical factors of the external environment, identification of personality, etc. are presented. The possibilities of some laboratory tests are highlighted.
