Forest King. Zhukovsky V.
Vasily Andreevich Zhukovsky in the history of Russian literature became famous as an unsurpassed romantic poet, a critic and a brilliant translator. He discovered for his own literature the genre of elegy and ballads and from comic “home” verses rose to deep philosophical lyrics.
Many translations and shifts of Zhukovsky became classical. In them, the poet primarily captured the tone and spirit of the sample, experiencing dramatic situations. So in the ballad “Forest Tsar” we hear the penetrating voice of the narrator, who is sorry for the sick child, taking feverish delirium for reality. The poet not only conveys his father’s conversation with his son, he himself feels the fear of the child and his father's powerlessness to help him.
