Freesia (lat. Freesia) - a genus of African perennial grassy tubercle plants of the Iris family (tangible). The flower is small, 3-5 cm, funnel -shaped. Its petals are narrow in the lower part, expand up and acquire an oval shape. The inside of the flower is most often different in color. Inside the funnel there are three stamens and pestle. The seed box consists of three cameras, in which rounded brown seeds are located. Propagate the plant with bulbs, less often sowing with seeds.
Landing method: Freesia does not like heavy clay soils. The most favorable for them will be light, oxygen soil. Freesia can be grown at home, then it is possible to achieve flowering in winter. In autumn, the corms of freesia are planted in deep pots: the thickness of the earthen layer should be at least 20 centimeters. The depth of planting of corms of Frezia is from 5-6 to 10-12 centimeters depending on the structure of the soil, 5-6 pieces per pot with a diameter of 10-12 cm. The approximate composition of the earthen mixture for freesions: turf land, humus, peat, sand in the ratio ( 2: 2: 1: 1)
