From childhood. Samoilov D.S.
The date of birth of the poems that compiled this book clearly testify to: thoughts about childhood and adolescence, the desire to resurrect their “initial time” and to open in it the spiritual meaning never left David Samoilov (1920-1990). One of the largest Russian poets of the twentieth century all his life remained faithful to this topic - at once happy and tragic, who occupied a completely special place in his world. Understanding this made it possible to do what was only secretly outlined by the poet himself - to collect the Samoilovsky lyrics, which came out "from childhood" under one cover.
The name of the book not only formally repeats the name of an indisputable poetic masterpiece, but also retains its meaning. The poem “From childhood” equally indicates that the time of our discovery of life, our own “I”, poetry always remains with us, and about its limb. The preposition “from” means both to childhood belonging and going beyond.
Samoilov’s poems can help us preserve the nimble, vital sense of the closest connection of fathers and children (A. Nemzer).
