The first volume of memoirs covers the activities of V. N. Kokovtsov as Minister of Finance in 1903-1906 and tells about the work of the State Duma of the I and III convocations, up to the murder of Stolypin.
the second volume is dedicated to the activities of V. N. Kokovtsov as chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Empire in 1911-1914, his subsequent resignation and escape from Russia to Russia to France in 1918.
