From the songs of love. Nadson S.Ya.
The poetic work of Semyon Nadson was a grand success among readers who had not yet happened in Russian literature. The only book of his verses parted in three months and then was repeatedly reprinted, the poet was awarded the Pushkin Prize of the Academy of Sciences. His voice turned out to be surprisingly consonant with time; The poems of Nadson, his “songs of love”, knew by heart, and in the eyes of readers these were pages of the poet’s real biography, full of dramatic conflicts (the early death of his parents, and then the death of his beloved, the severe illness of the poet himself, his poetic triumph and slanderous persecution from the side literary enemies).
“How many tears were spilled over his verses, with what hobby they read and with what reverence his name was pronounced!” - wrote Vladislav Khodasevich. Nadson passed away when he was only 24 years old, at the peak of glory and became the ruler of the feelings of the whole generation of the era of "timelessness" - an era that divided the gold and silver age in the history of Russian poetry.
