The textbook “Fundamentals of Nursing” was compiled in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard in accordance with the specialty of SPO 34.02.01 “Nursing” regarding the development of the main type of professional activity: “Performing work by profession, a younger nurse to care for patients”, as part of a professional Module (PM 04) and consists of three parts: MDK 01 “Theory and practice of nursing”; MDK 02 "Safe environment for the patient and staff"; MDK 03 “Technology for the provision of medical services”.

The training manual will help to master the following issues of medical care: communication with the patient and his environment in the process of professional activity; compliance with the principles of professional ethics and morality; ensuring a safe hospital environment; the provision of medical services within their powers; implementation of nursing interventions in a critical situation; Carrying for patients of various age groups in the conditions of healthcare institutions and at home.

The manual consists of 22 sections, 7 applications, and also includes schemes, drawings, illustrations, tables, etc., compiled using materials current regulatory documents. Each section of the manual has a list of basic terms and concepts, control issues for self -control of the acquired material. In the framework of the modular education, the acquired knowledge, skills, experience should form future graduates professional competence in the field of medical care. The manual can be used in the educational process by students of the specialty of SPO 02/34/01 “Nursing”, and will also be useful to students of other specialties, students of additional postgraduate education and practicing nursing staff.
