Fundamentals of poetry. General introduction. Metric and rhythm. Bryusov V.Ya.

The attention of readers is proposed to the book of an outstanding Russian poet and literary critic V.Ya. Bryusov (1873–1924), dedicated to the presentation of the foundations of poetry. The book includes two parts. The first part contains an introduction to the poem; The place of poems in general poetics is highlighted, general poem and private poems are considered, and the system of versification in the Russian language is described. The second part is devoted to the study of private metric and rhythm. The concepts of meter and rhythm are determined, simple, complex and mixed meters, meters transitions are examined in detail. To illustrate theoretical provisions in the work, examples taken from the work of classical poets are used.
