Gallery of souls and poems. Machado A.
Antonio Machado (1875–1939) is called the most significant Spanish poet of the XX century. His contemporaries were such famous masters as Juan Ramon Jimenez, a magnificent lyricist, virtuoso form, and Federico Garcia Lorca, with his unique rhythm and truly mythological depth, but it is Machado's work that continues to again and again attract new Spanish poets, wave after wave , generation after generation.
This phenomenon is all the more striking that the poet wrote not so much during his life: he collected the poems on one average volume of Tom “Poesias Completas” (“Complete Collection of Poems”), the last, most complete edition of which It turned out in 1936. Machado tried to explain the inexplicable charm of poetry through the concepts of symbolism, modernism, nationality, religiosity, integration, etc., however, its main property is an extreme, to extremely uncontenting simplicity.
verses consisting of few accurate and expressive words, uncomplicated in form, exclude ambiguity, call things their direct names - and in these names they reveal the depth and secret of the world.
The real edition represents A bilingual collection of selected works by Antonio Machado, a poet of amazing severity of the spirit and the rarest artistic purity.
