The book included the chosen chapters from the novel “The outcast” of the French writer Victor Hugo (1802–1885).

The story of the little Kozetta, which the mother gave to educate the evil and eager innkeeper Tenardier and his wife, will not leave indifferent young readers. In a strange house, the baby Kozette was not easy: living starving and finishing the old things of the master's daughters, the girl did the hardest and most dirty work. What was the surprise and bewilderment of a little girl, when one day, under Christmas, some stranger bought her an expensive doll, and in her wooden shoe, she found a gold coin!

the young Gavrosh-another hero of the novel “Outseded " - grew up on the streets of Paris. The city replaced him with parents, brothers and sisters, city slums became his home. Along with adults, the young Havrosh bravely fights on the barricades of revolutionary Paris.
