The second edition of the textbook “General and inorganic chemistry” consists of three parts. The first part sets out the theoretical foundations of inorganic chemistry. The fundamental concepts of chemistry are considered; composition, properties and use of solutions; patterns of chemical reactions. The second part reflects the chemistry of the elements. The properties of chemical elements based on the periodic system of elements are considered. The general characteristics of the elements, the most important types of chemical compounds are given; The biological role, features of the ecology, the chemical foundations of pharmaceutical use are described. The third part contains practical and laboratory work. Tasks on all topics of the chemistry course and the methodology for performing simple chemical experiments are given. Numerous examples are dismantled. In all sections, contextual exercises are given, as well as questions and exercises at the end of paragraphs. In the second edition, the noticed typos were eliminated, some definitions were clarified, new chemical elements are included in Mendeleev’s table.

The textbook is intended for students of secondary pharmaceutical educational institutions.
