General Vlasov. Anatomy of betrayal. Konyaev N.M.
It is difficult to find a more contradictory figure in the history of the Great Patriotic War than Lieutenant General Andrei Andreyevich Vlasov. Until now, historians of Russia and the West in relation to the personality of the general are divided into two irreconcilable camps. Some call Vlasov a traitor, a bloody villain, a faithful accomplice of the Nazis, others - a glorious hero, an unbending fighter with totalitarianism.
Petersburg historian N. Konyaev, without denying the fact of betrayal, adheres to a special point of view. Based on a serious analysis of archival documents, motives of the acts and statements of the general, the historian creates a more lively, complex and contradictory image of the former Soviet commander.
