Genesis. Snegov S.A.
“We did not reject a single blow from ourselves...”
Sergey Aleksandrovich Snegov (1910–1994), a well-known science fiction writer, could rightfully attribute these Akhmatov lines to ourselves. His "Book of Genesis" is an invaluable, first -hand, evidence of a person who had to live in an era of very great changes. The story of a boy, an Odessa tramp, gifted and impudent, develops against the backdrop of the shocks of the revolution, the first Soviet difficult years, the terror of the thirties. Snegov managed to recreate the world of a child, a teenager - wayward, dependent on praise, looking for adventures, suffering and sometimes cruel. Gradually, the hero of the memories is tormented, and now the young scientist gives lectures at the university. However, eccentricity is dangerous in the edge of the total equality planted by force. And therefore, the arrest in 1936 seems almost inevitable.
