Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin is an outstanding novelist-realist and satirist of the 19th century. He devoted almost all his life to the work of civil servants until he changed Nikolai Nekrasov as the editor of one of the first Russian literary magazines “Domestic Notes”. His most famous creation, which has become the classic of Russian literature, is the family saga “Lord Golovlev.”
