The novel of the oldest Nizhny Novgorod writer is dedicated to the events of the great turning point in the village, which has taken the path of collectivization. The author created the memorable images of peasant girls, showed their complex labor destinies. The narrative covers the five -year backstory of the collective farm movement and precedes everything that will be later told by M. A. Sholokhov in the “Raised virgin”.
