The large-flowered gladiolus "Prince of Orange" has a pale apricot petals, a light central vein and light corrugation along the edge. The variety is unpretentious, multiplying perfectly.

  • Height: 100-120 cm
  • Kolos length: 40-50 cm
  • Flowering: August-September

Agricultural technology:

  • In early April, the corms peeled from the covers of scales are placed in boxes (or other suitable containers) and put on multiple light. During the time before planting, almost all corms will appear sprouts (up to 3-5 cm).
  • gladiolus is a photophilous plant, so for planting it is necessary to choose an open area well lit by the sun. The site where gladioli will be grown is thoroughly processed: dug up (to a depth of 30-40 cm), cleaned of weeds, organic and mineral fertilizers are applied if necessary. The best predecessors for gladioli: tomatoes, garlic, onions, legumes, strawberries, zinnia, velvet, dahlias.
  • The depth and density of the landing of gladioli depends on the size of the corm. On average, corms are planted to a depth of 10-15 cm, with a distance between them 7-20 cm.
  • Planting is carried out in grooves, well spilled with water. Before planting at the bottom of the groove, river sand (1-2 cm) is poured or a small layer of moss is laid. This technique will prevent the spread of fungal diseases and will preserve moisture in dry weather. After planting, the earth is mulched.
  • Care consists in timely weeding, loosening, watering and top dressing.
  • Gladioli corms die at minus temperatures, so for the winter they need to be dug up and stored until planting next spring. Clubs are dug up with a shovel or forks with wide, flat teeth, then carefully cleaned of the soil. The stems of gladioli are cut off, leaving a small petiole (0.5-1.0 cm) from the corms.
  • Clubs are dried in a well-ventilated place at a temperature of 20-30 degrees, within 1-1.5 months. In winter, corms are stored in a dry, cool place, at a temperature of 0-8 degrees.
