The Birth of the Musician is the historical and biographical novel of the Soviet writer, journalist and playwright Alexei Novikov about the childhood and youth of the outstanding Russian composer, the founder of Russian classical music by M. I. Glinka. The novel uses a number of new biographical materials about M. I. Glinka: data on the events of 1812, which played in the homeland of the future author of the opera Ivan Susanin.
