Glorious, gloriously we frolic
George Orwell is a writer whose name has become a symbol of the genre of anti -utopia. The author of the cult “1984” and “Castard” - works that were passionately discussed many years ago and continue to discuss just as passionately today. His works have repeatedly filmed. But even the best film is not able to convey all the relics of the desperate and harsh Orwell prose... Orwell, being one of the brightest and most controversial writers of the twentieth century, fought with topical issues in his own way-with the help of a pen and paper. The collection includes its critical thoughts on a variety of topics - from modern literature and cinema to poetics and politics. The title place is occupied by the autobiographical essay “Nice, gloriously we frolic”, in which Orwell describes with all the frankness a difficult stage of growing up and without embellishment talks about his studies at the School of St. Cyprian, sarcastically condemning the hypocritical system of Edwardian education.
