Orwell, being one of the most striking and ambiguous writers of the twentieth century, fought with topical questions in his own way-with the help of a pen and paper. The title place is occupied by the autobiographical essay “Nice, gloriously we frolic”, in which Orwell describes with all the frankness a difficult stage of growing up and without embellishment talks about his studies at the School of St. Cyprian, sarcastically condemning the hypocritical system of Edwardian education.
