The novel of the famous Khanty writer Yeremey Ipin is dedicated to the events of 1933–1934 - the uprising of the indigenous peoples of the Ob North, who did not want to submit to the Soviet regime, striving to defend their freedom and customs. In the center of the plot is the fate of an Ostyatsky woman, whose family was destroyed by a war. Her story grows into a piercing story about the tragedy of man, family, people, and, as a result, Russia, which was lost in the bloody snow of 1917.
