Gogol in life: "Dead souls." Pilgrimage. Mitting. Veresaev V.V.

The fruit of the many years of work by V.V. Veresaev, the book “Gogol in Life” was created on the model of the famous “Pushkin's satellites”, which opened a new genre in Russian literature - a chronicle of characteristics and opinions. In this book there is no interpretation of events from the life of N. V. Gogol and its description with the help of artistic means, the author “mounts” the historical evidence of the contemporaries of the writer, the history of his time, life and morals of the era.

This collection included Descriptions of the period of creating “Correspondence with friends”, years spent in foreign wanderings and traveling to holy places, as well as the last years of the writer’s life.
